Dear Ariyan,

I have received your letter. Hope you are well. In your letter, you have talked about climate change. After reading you, I also felt that the climate of our city has changed a lot day by day. In Rajshahi, it is too hot during summer and unbearable cold during winter. As a result, people get confused while visiting Rajshahi. But in Rajshahi, it is better not to visit during the summer season.

But now the generation has changed and there is air conditioning in every house. Now you may be wondering how people lived in such a hot area when there was no AC. I will talk about it today. You know that Rajshahi is a city that is situated along the banks of the Padma river. In the last letter, I told you about a dilapidated building 'Boro Kuthi' on the bank of the river. If you look carefully, you will understand that their structure or construction is different. The buildings of those days were very tall and square, which kept the houses cool. Their buildings were built in such a way to prevent this problem.

Then another special method was adopted to solve this summer problem and that is to dig a pond. In that era, every big house had such a big pond in front of it. They used to do all their work there. I will take you there when you come to Bangladesh. There are many such buildings in Rajshahi.

Today I'm ending here. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours

Mahi
