About the Blog

Pen friendship is a beautiful way to connect with people from all over the world. It is not only an excellent way to improve language skill while communicating in different languages but also allows to exchange culture, experiences, ideas and memories. The modern technology took over the communication system and shaped it through social media, email and so but still Letters have this personal touch of crafted thoughts.

Few Words About the Letter-writing Activity under OSCH

The letter-writing activity of the shared cultural heritage project by the British Council is a collaboration between Uronto Artist community and the Bangladesh Association of Glasgow. It is a wonderful initiative that seeks to foster cultural understanding and empathy between young people from different countries. The activity involves participants writing letters to each other, sharing their personal stories, and experiences connected with cultural traditions. Through this activity, participants not only develop their storytelling skills but also gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of other cultures. The letters provide a unique opportunity for young people to connect with others from diverse backgrounds to build solidarity, build bridges across cultures, and reconnect the young people to lost traditional cultural elements. Young people have the freedom to innovate and do creative things with letters where they are involving photographs, drawings, and many other things which also supports the to overcome the barrier of language.  It also culminates in a unique archive of shared cultural narratives.  Overall, the letter-writing activity aims to promote intercultural dialogue and understanding and to foster a more inclusive community of youth promoting their cultural heritage and traditions.

The final outcome is a Digital BLOG containing shared letters between the pen friend from both countries which will continue to grow with contributions from the young storytellers from Bangladesh and Glasgow, though not limited to only these two countries, and can expand around the globe with intervention and mutual interest.
