Dear Penpal,
Thank you for your letter and for sharing your experience in Sirajganj. It was fascinating to read
about your life and how you were able to revisit the place where you spent your childhood. It
sounds like it was an emotional experience for you, and I can imagine how much it must have
meant to you to see the places where you have so many memories.
It's interesting how buildings and places can hold so much emotion and nostalgia for us, even
as they change over time. It's also true that change is a constant in our lives, and it can be
difficult to see the things we love and cherish change or disappear altogether. But as you said,
these changes are a part of life, and we have to learn to accept them even as we hold onto our
memories and the emotions that they bring.
Since you have talked about Sirajgani, I figure that I should talk about Glasgow, where I live.
Glasgow is the second biggest city in Scotland and is considered as the ‘Commercial Capital’ of
Scotland. It’s thoroughly rich in history and culture.
Firstly, let me tell you that Glasgow is a city like no other. It has a unique character and charm
that sets it apart from other cities in the UK. Glasgow is often referred to as the "dear green
place" because of its abundance of parks and green spaces. We have the famous Kelvingrove
Park, Glasgow Green, and Pollok Country Park, to name just a few. These parks are perfect for
a leisurely stroll, a picnic with friends, or just a quiet moment to yourself.
Another thing that makes Glasgow special is its people. Glaswegians are known for their
warmth, humor, and generosity. We have a strong sense of community here, and it's not
uncommon to strike up a conversation with a stranger on the street. We are proud of our
heritage and culture, and we celebrate it through music, art, and food. Glasgow is home to
some of the best restaurants, cafes, and bars in the UK, offering a wide range of cuisines to suit
every taste.
Glasgow is also a city of contrasts. We have a rich industrial history, and our architecture
reflects this with stunning Victorian buildings such as the Glasgow City Chambers and the
Mitchell Library. However, we also have modern and contemporary buildings like the SSE Hydro
and the Glasgow Science Centre. Glasgow is a city that is always evolving and changing, yet it
never forgets its roots.
Lastly, I must mention our beloved football clubs, Celtic and Rangers. The rivalry between these
two clubs is fierce, and on match days, the city is awash with the colors of green and blue. It's
an experience like no other, and even if you're not a football fan, you can't help but get caught
up in the excitement.
I could go on and on about Glasgow, but I'll stop here for now. I hope this letter has given you a
small glimpse into what makes Glasgow such a special place.
Thank you again for writing to me and for sharing your story. I look forward to hearing more
about your life and experiences.
